I got rear-ended yesterday by a teenager driving a heavily dinged and scratched 2007 Dodge Charger. He got out of his car and apologized, then we waited for the police to arrive so an accident report could be filed.

When the cop arrived, she checked our driver's license numbers and after a lengthy exchange of "codes" with the dispatcher, she turned to this kid and said "Mister _____, it seems this car is pretty unlucky for you. Exactly how many people have you hit with this car sir?"

He scratched the back of his head, and said "Uh...well, I don't hit people, ma'am, I just hit mailboxes and telephone poles."

Now, as I was saying...where do you think this kid will be in a year?

Hopefull nowhere around me !
It's scary isn't it !
Where I live when the license is given to the teenagers,
if they have 1 accident, or break any laws, their license is
suspended for 1 year. They then have to take another
driving course and start over again !
I probably will offend alot of teenagers out there, but, I think
this law should be adopted everywhere !

OK, nobody is going to like this but it goes along with a train of thought I have been having lately anyway..Dud above mentions a brake leak he thinks may have been caused by the repair, what if the leak was there before? Your guy said he just hits telephone poles and mail boxes...I tell ya what, maybe he in his "stupidity" just held you back long enough to avoid an accident. We have all heard the many heart felt stories about how people did not end up at their offices on 911, everything from stopping for bandaids to the babysitter being late....Maybe.,...well you know...A little juvenile to some but my attitude is, When you are stuck in traffic due to an accident ahead of you, feel lucky, you could be the accident. Take care, probably not the answer that everyone wants but the one I felt the need to give. Alda
Sorry almost did not answer the rest. In a year...cannot tell...but if you are the first thing other than telephone poles and mailboxes..maybe the dude just needs to send a "message." Seriously, you did not say he had been drinking or driving wildly. Hopefully he will "grow up."

wow....the same thing happened to me about a month ago, and the guy was a total dunce!
what's even worse is that after i got my car fixed it was all greasy on the inside and i just realized this afternoon that i have a brake fluid leak...now i know why the brakes felt diffrently after the car got repaired
but i still don't know how the leak came to be...they might've accidentally touched something while reapiring it

for your question...i know it won't be in school, jail is too easy, maybe....smoking pot with his looser friends?
