The key to revolutionize education is to first get school on the cutting edge of technology.
Second we have to think out of the box and get away from the standard way we educate students in school buildings
Third we have to get parents to realize that schools are not baby sitters.
4th we need legislature to overturn NCLB act and actually fund education.

1. PRIVATIZE education and allow market forces to dictate what schools survive based on their ability to meet the needs of the students and produce a quality education. It would also allow formation of specialty schools that emphasize arts or science, or language, etc. The schools would have to lure students by their educational quality not just their location.
2. Create special schools for the "bad" kids. Disruptive behavior is the biggest class problem, but we have no teeth to do anything about those students. State law says they have to be there. Get them out of the mainstream classes so the others can learn much better. Many disruptive kids are bored, not stupid. See #3.
3. Give up the idea that all kids go to college and set up "trade schools" as we used to call them. These schools teach real life skills (auto repair, paint/body, computer design, etc etc) so the students get real life skills for real life jobs when they graduate. Look at those guys on the motorcycle/hot rod shows - they look about as gnarly/tatooed as you can get, but they love what they do and have made their car/cycle passion their work. So if you are guy like them and want to work on hot rods, where would you even start in a typical school setup? We have to recognize that not everyone will be a NASA engineer. But there is an equal need and interest for "real world" skills. THAT we do a poor job of providing in mainstream education.

The way to revolutionzie the American Education Systerm is by establishing freedom in eductation. That means that a child/parent could choose to go to whatever school they thought best and the tax dollars which suport the child in a public school would follow her/him.

Do this and watch the American Education System change!

Take back control of the school, the kids have the upper hand & they know it! Uniforms, you would be surprised how many new friends you would make if you did'nt know their background. Don't ask the parents to get involved, make sure they do! Get rid of TAKS, SATS, etc. if the teacher is not teaching your child well enough to make them remember what they NEED to learn, get rid of the teacher! Give them a 30 minute break in the morning, noon & afternoon, if you can't teach them what they need to know in 51/2 hrs. they will only lose intrest anyway. I could go on & on.

:) Well the states could probably have more money for education if we didn't send our tax dollars to Washington D.C. Now Washington D.C. on the other hand, might find that revolting. Besides they do not know how to use our tax dollars.
