It's not, but Sanjaya is and the IDIOTS voting for him are big jokes too. They think it's going to get rid of the show by voting for the loser, but the fact is Fox and AI have a deal for many many seasons.

It is just that, a JOKE.
With all the controversey surrounding it last year you would think people would just stop watching and then ratings go down and then they close it down.
Those judges get a pretty penny for sitting there and ridiculing the singers. I think that is disgusting. It does nothing for their self-esteem and can really push them over the edge.
I was really floored when nothing became of the liason with one of the contestants and Paula Abdul last year. I really dont think anyone really knows if it was true or not but it seemed he had some evidence.
Did she get fired? No way she is keeping the money coming in.
The reason the show is a joke is that the best singer does not always win. And the judges are not too smart. What do they know about anything. They put down those that are not the perfect image with perfect bodies. What does that have to do with their voice?
It is all a Joke just like WWF Wrestling

It's not the biggest joke. The biggest joke on TV is another FOX show, "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?". That show is fake, fake, fake. American Idol can be #2.

I don't. It is fun and entertaining. For those of you who think it's a big joke, fine - you are entitled to your opinion. That is why there are other channels on the tv. For those of you voting for Sanjaya just to piss everyone off - Please stop. Now. What you are doing is cruel and unnecessary - you taking enjoyment away from other people instead of minding your own business.

Honestly I think that show that has people wanting to be on 'Grease' the broadway show is a much bigger joke than american idol.....

Had to watch the final show of last season while visiting relatives and almost heaved - over the show, not the relatives.
