The current Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is not offered with an automatic transmission. Just a 5 or 6 speed manual. The Lancer Evolution X, which is supposed to debut by the end of the year is apparently equipped with a fast shifting automatic transmission much like the DSG transmission in Volkswagens.

Haven't seen an automatic EVO yet. That isn't an option until the EVO X. Who wants an automatic in a race car anyway?

They will be since the evo X will come in a six speed semi-auto. But manual can still give you a great driving experience

Whatever you do, do not get an automatic Evo! Where's the fun in that?

They are still fast. They are only 1-2mph slower in top speed and about 0.2 seconds slower to 60mph. The gas mileage is also up to 4mpg worse in automatic cars and automatic cars cost more to fix.
