Yes, it was Phil Jackson

This was the low point of Scottie Pippen's career and the main reason why I'm reluctant to put him in the top 50 players of all time.

It was 1994, against the Knicks, and the Bulls were down 2-0. This was the first year of Jordan's retirement.

The Bulls did win that game on Kukoc's shot, then went on to win game 4 to tie the series. Then, in game 5, Pippen was the victim of one of the most controversial calls in playoff history. He touched the arm of one of the Knicks after the shot with one second left and was called for a foul, allowing New York to go to the line to win the game.

Were it not for that call, I believe the Bulls would have went to the finals.

Hi-it was Phil Jackson. Phil called the final shot for Toni Kukoc. Scottie did not like that. Personally, I can totally see why Phil called it for Toni-cause he had been making clutch game winners that year and well...at that time Toni the better jump shooter FG% wise. Phil wasn't trying to dis Scottie-he just knew the shot at the top of the key was better suited for Toni-and boy was he right! I remember watching and thinking-eh, not a big deal-we got Toni-he can make these big ones. Even if Phil picked Kerr, it would have been okay. Though Scottie could have inbounded the ball.

Bulls wont that game and tied the series up 2-2 to the Knicks. It was a little strange of Pip to do that-but everything worked out well eventually. Three titles eventually came their way with Pip, MJ, Kukoc, Rodman...
