I mean money.

Our company pay based on how many clients we sign. The top sales persons can sign 3 person per day on average. And that is $40 Australian dollars per sign. On my first day, I signed one customer successfully, but my boss told me that he had a problem with my working attitude.

Now let's do that maths, we work 10 hours per day, and if we sign 3 people, that is $120/ 10 hours, that is $12/hour. If we are not lucky, (just like my "boss" on that day), we could only sign 2 people, then it's $80/ 10 hours, that is $8 per hour. To compare, the a waiter in China town earns $8 per hour. And if I am not lucky, I can only sign one person, that is $4 per hour.

I am not very happy with the pay and the "boss" is having problem with my working attitude --- he wants me to work harder. Well I am currently in uni, let's be realistic, can I find a job with better pay than this? Should I leave the job or not?

I have to reply to my boss if I want the job or not by tonight.
Thanks

for a straight commission job, that is not enough $. If you are smart enough to be in uni, you are smart enough to find something better

Sales work based on commission is incredibly stressful and can be demeaning (I know from experience). I put in many hours, and if I didn't make a sale, I got NO salary. That is no way to live.

There is a certain personality type that can do well on commission, the type of person that could sell ice to an eskimo...a glad hander. If you are not that type of person, you will not do well. They always try to "hook" you with "how much money you can make" and then show you an example of someone who is successful. But in my experience, most people are NOT successful, so there is a lot of turnover.

There are many good jobs where you can get a decent salary without the stress, and a waiter isn't bad, you can get good tips too. Good luck whatever you decide. I am just down on sales because it was a bad experience for me, and I am not a pushy person that can force people to buy things.
