i am guesing you are black and possibly treating your hair with chemicals of some kind. Motions (hair products) amkes a great line of moisturizers because only dry hair breaks. I suggest Motions hair and scalp daily moisturizing. it comes in a tub and you can generously scoop it on. For light weight moisturizing, try Motions hair lotion. its an oil free moisturizer in a pink bottle made especially for "dry and Damaged hair". (thats what the bottle says)
