I want to change my makeup look to something noticable and unique. But
I'm not the best makeup artist
I'm not creative when it comes to makeup
and I'm lost as to what I should do all together.
I'm aiming for a "scene" look with my makeup.

Anyone have suggestions for colors and just how to apply the makeup in general?

(Sorry if this is badly worded I'm not great with explaining things)

Different things look striking on different people. The shape of your face overall, the shape of your lips, eyes, cheek and brow bones all play a part.

Your coloring is important to know too. Different colors look different on different people. Is your skin tone pale or tan? Is your base yellow, red, green, or blue? (ie, olive pale skin will look a lot different than peaches & cream complexion)
What colors are your hair & eyes?

I recommend you go to a professional that can help you figure out the answers to these questions. Try to find a 'name' beauty parlor or an image consultant, and find out how much just for a consultation. You may pay $50-250, but it will be worth it in the end.

If you can't afford a custom consultation, check your library. I have a book called "Faces" by some 'artist to the stars'. You should be able to find something that will help. Good luck!

My technique is to draw a face on a piece of paper and try out your different products on the face you drew. For your "scene" style go for CoverGirls 4-kit Shades of gray... IncrediFULL lipstick in Maximum Red or Ruby Rush. For cheeks use Bare Minerals(from Bare Escentuals) in soft focused glee.

i'm totally untalented at makeup too.

what i do is buy very brightly coloured mineral eyeshows (innocence is a great brand) and colour it up almost as high as my brows, and leave the rest of the face blank except for a very light blush and clear gloss on the lips. i find it's very striking.

i wore red today to match a garnet pendant, looks amazing.

A friend of mine applies two different colours of make-up to her eyelids, using one colour towards the inner corner of her eyelids(eg green) and another colour towards the outer corner of her lashes(eg purple). She also uses a layer of black liduid liner on her lids.

Another idea is to use contrasting lip colours on her lips, sometimes a really light colour on your top lips and a really dark colour on your lower lip, or vice versa.
