If they love each other then I don't see a problem.

Dating for a good time, companionship is great but I don't
think its good for either party to consider marriage or anything
permanent.Today 58 is middle aged but in 10=-20 years
where will that 58 year old be and in what type of shape and
the 38 year old will be 20 years older and might not want to
be in the position of taking on some possibly big burdens.
I took care of my father for his last 10 years and would do it
again but it was at times really rough.
But if the two just want to putz around, I say go for it, you are
adults and know how to protect yourselves.

I see nothing wrong with it. If it was an 18 year old dating a 38 year old I might have an issue with it. At 38, one is mature enough to hold down a conversation with someone who's 58...

This is such a dated question that I am surprized that Hazeleyes has asked it? My impression of Hazeleyes, based on her accute sense of humor, her ability to tantilize, without getting too graphic, etc.
Back when people usually died in their 30's, 40's, and 50's, this was probably more important. In this modern world most people that "see" or "date" or "have sex" with older partners don't have to worry about falling in love and having children, just in time for good, old, dad to drop dead.
Sex and companionship are two very important things. I am 54 y/o, I've actually dated women much younger than myself, and I've dated a lady with children my age (never did know her age). Being a Nursing Home Administrator, my firm rule is to never date a woman that looks the age that she could be one of my residents!
Young women should have better things to do than screw older men, unless they are getting something out of it, such as money, nice hotels, good restaurants, good plays, nice gifts, cocaine, etc. Not always, but I know that a fairly nice looking woman can almost have any man she puts her mind to, if she only lets him know she is game. Not so for males.
Also, I have an exceptional friend that is just about 20 years younger than me. We see each other when we can, and I am not interested in changing that part of my life. I am single, and until there is someone more permanent in my life, she is exactly what I need. She is smart, employed, educated, and we do not take financial advantage of each other. When I can't do what she likes, she will find someone else.

Cool by me. Love is a funny thing. Look at James Woods, he is 60 dating a woman 20.

I think that is a question best left to the two people involved. Only they know how they get along.

I think it's normal, and if they are genuinely happy together, that's all that matters. It's no one's business but their own. I hate these judgemental ignorant people that are on here saying "NASTY, NASTY" ...they are obviously lacking life experience themselves, or were just raised to be close minded. Anyway, good luck to you!

If it's love or it makes them happy I wouldn't think there is a need to comment on it at all except to say "Well done" :)
