There are several stereotypes that exist in politics. One is that Democrats are immoral and not pro-family and that Republicans are not intelligent. It is generally assumed that Kennedy, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama are intellectual giants. Yet, Ford, Reagan, Quayle, Bush are idiots.
These stereotypes aren't true and intelligence varies. Someone who may be a great philosopher might not be a good manager. A Ph.D. in English might be a terrible doctor. Bush has misspoken on occasion, but it doesn't make him stupid. It is fair to criticize the decisions he and his administration have made.
