I had an abortion at the start of the year, and because I was over 9 weeks (only just), I had to have an op.

Everything went okay, but I was advised to have a checkup after 3 weeks.

I never had the check up, although I followed the other stuff which included no sex for three weeks, no heavy lifting and no long hot baths.

I feel fine and everything, although I think my body will take a little while to adjust to the change.

I will be okay, even though I never had the check up, won't I?

I know, but maybe its too late now anyway? Really don't like the idea of a check up, the abortion was bad enough with people fiddling around. Wouldn't go to my doctor anyway, maybe my local family planning clinic? I don't know, I don't like the idea of it at all.

I would still strongly advise you to have a check up as they really are necessary to check that all is well there. You may feel well enough but you don't know for sure what is going on inside do you.
If you don't want the doctor to do the examination then go to family planning. You should have this check to ensure all is okay and that nothing will affect your chances of conceiving later in life.
And you are correct in saying that your body will take a while to adjust to having had an abortion.

I had an abortion back in October, and also never went back for my check up. At the time of my procedure I was only 5 weeks (technically too early, but the conception date was wrong, I got pregnant on my period mid-birth control pack. They did a before and after sonogram to make sure everything was ok.) I called and told them I was having no abnormal effects afterwards so they said I did not absolutely have to come back (it was unconvenient to work out a babysitter and drive all the way back). I wouldn't exactly recommend not going, but as long as there is so heavy bleeding, fever or abnormal clotting, ect. you should be fine. I was back to normal pretty quickly. My procedure was on the 10th, and I got my first normal period on the 30th. They put me on NuvaRing (I know at PlannedParenthood it's policy to leave with birth control and a script for PlanB) and by mid-November I was completely back to normal. Any other questions feel free to message me. Good luck with everything and hope all goes well for you.

Im sorry hun your not a doctor and these people know what they are talking about, you should have a check up to see if everything is as it should be and healing, might affect your chances of having another child in the future if they have missed something and because you never went for a check, do it please you might regret it

The purpose of the check-up is to make certain that there aren't any internal damages to your uterus and to insure that the baby was fully aborted.....if I was in your situation i would make an appt for tommorrow or at your earliest convienance because anything as serious as a follow-up appt after an abortion isn't to be taken lightly....just to make sure you are going to recover without any complications follow-up with your Dr. good luck sweetie...it's a hard desicion to make....just go to your dr to make sure k?

It's never too late - have that checkup to ensure you won't have permanent damage you'll regret in future. - and you'll have your peace of mind... Pick up that phone now!

Just go anyway, it is your health in the end, we can buy so many things, just not help. You will be glad you did it.
Good Luck!
