Hi. I am going to be about 4 days away from my cycle when my doctor told me start taking the pill. She said start sunday. If I take the pill 4 days before it is supposed to start will it hold of my cycle until the placebo pills. the b/c is called YAZ. I guess its called the quick start method of birth control when you start it any day in your cycle.

Please give me some info
If you did it please tell me how you did it and if it held of your cycle until the placebo pills.

Thanks

I've tried the quick start method a few times before. Once, it was right before my period started and it didn't stop my period, but then one time I felt the whole PMS thing, but didn't have my period. Another time, it was because I didn't know when my period was going to start. That time, I got on a regular schedule.

If you know you are about to have your period, wait until the 1st Sunday after your period to start the pill.

If I were you, I would start the pills the first sunday after your period starts. Your period may start early with the 'Quick Start' method. Also, be sure to use a back up method of birth control such as condoms during your first pack of pills. The pills are not very effective during the first pack.

Your Dr probably said to start the pill the 1st Sunday after you start you cycle, so if you start today you take the pill on Sunday the 1st of April, if you start your cycle on Sat 13 march then you still start the Pill on Sunday the 1st April. Call your Dr office or pharmacy to confirm this
