Why is it that some people can be so logical in other peoples situations and irrational about them selfs? My girlfriend is always rational and logical in what i should do but, anything with her she will not see reason. I never want her to think i am trying to tell her what to do but, in her life she is irrational. She does or does not do things that will hurt her later. And when I try to explain why she needs to do something she gets angry at me. I do not understand.

People want most to satisfy their feelings sometimes regardless of the outcome. When ones mind is made up that the rewards out weigh the risks that person spurred on by impulse will seek it.
Others around them may not feel the same so it is seen as foolish.
It's all about point of view.
It's easy to be logical from a distance but when you are amidst the chaos you cannot see the it clearly.
It's like looking at a snow globe from outside when it is chaos from within. That's why your friend needs you And when others are in need they need an "outside mind". One not affected by the shaking of the globe.
The truth is the snow cannot be stopped, it will eventually settle on its own. The pieces never Land in the same place they were before.

People don't like to be scolded or schooled about what they should or shouldn't do with their lives. To them life is short, make the best of it. Besides, the only risk in taking something is not taking it at all.

have you ever heard the term 'afraid of success'. that could be the case with your girlfriend... she may be doing things that end wrong no matter what because she is afraid of commiting herself to it (and you?) because she is afraid that she will fail anyway.
and listening to you and succeeding will mean she didn't do it on her own so she just gets angry to get you to back off because she doesn't want to commit to it anyway...get it?
but if she guilds you straight she is perfectly happy because she thinks your success is hers and that does make her proud.

Logic rules the world outside of us....seperate from the self.......Emotion rules the world inside ourselves.....how it effects us and how we feel about it as opposed to how it effects others and how they should feel about it........

maybe she is too proud of herself. its like she has good ideas of her own and she shares, or enforces, it with other people but she doesn't apply it on herself. maybe she thinks she always does the right thing.
