Labor Unions give money to the Democrat party. However that is more of a bribe than a donation and of course the mob needs their cut.

Together, the 4 owners of Wal-Mart from Walton family are worth over 80 billion dollars and Wal-Mart makes billions of dollars of profit every year.
What are the unions worth and how much money do they make?
Now consider this 270 mil, not as an absolute figure but in terms of percentage of revenues of Wal-Mart over years and see for yourself, how much are they really giving away?
I am not going into corruptions in unions etc cos that is not the topic here.

270 million is NOTHING. Target gave back more than $110 million and they are 1/5 of the size. How about Walmart gives some of that money to the people that actually WORK for them. Maybe..oh I don't know..better health care for their own employees and their wouldn't be so much talk of unions now would there?

Labor unions give all their money to the lawyers that run them. They sure don't worry about taking care of real working people, just lazy whiners that would try to find a way out of sleeping for a living. I'm not saying all union workers are like that, but the union doesn't give a crap about a person who has a good work ethic only the ones who don't, I know I've been in 2 of them unions and was happy to leave both times.

OK, I'll play Devil's Advocate on this one (even though I believe unions are NOT beneficial in today's world).
Wal-Mart donated $270 million to charities, right? Big deal! Why did they not just invest in their EMPLOYEES??? That could have been a decent wage increase to people who need it! Yes, charities are (to one degree or another) good, but a wage increase to their employees would have much longer lasting benefits to the company.
Far as I'm concerned, the donation was a waste and an insult to the employees.

Walmart is a very good american company. But I wonder, would you work there?
Perhaps if walmart paid their employee's a fair wage or provided even the most frugal health care plan to their "workers" maybe, just maybe, a few less families would need that charity. Which I am sure is the bare minimum they can make for a nice, big, fat tax write-off.

Labor unions don't have to give to charities, since they keep people working at very good wages.
Wal Mart has to give to charities, since they drive small companies out of business, and are ultimately detrimental to the economy.
Think about that the next time you wait in line at the mart to save $0.04 on a purchase.

WALMART could have used that money to pay it's employees a living wage or better yet to provide them with health care.
43% of the children of WALMART employees get thier health care from WELFARE. That means the Taxpayer pays for them. Yet the WALTONs take a big tax break for thier """Charity""""

Labor unions are notoriously corrupt and have known ties to criminal organizations (i.e. the Mafia). They have a legacy of hatred and frequently use fear, intimidation and violence to achieve their goals.
There is no need for organized labor in the modern era. We have things like OSHA and Dept of Labor now. They are an embarrasing anachronism of the ancient past.
Time to abolish labor unions, once and for all!
