I wouldn't just say hip hop, because all of it isn't bad. But I would say the messenger who delivers it. Just like with anything there is always the rotten apple in the bunch! Like the old saying goes, " It's not the gun who kills people, but the person who shoots the gun!" And it is good for society because it draws attention from everybody and ever where across the globe. If only some would become more responsible with their lyrics it could be used as a great way to bring society together.

No. Hip Hop music is the same as any other music like Rock. There is violence at Rock concerts too but because Hip Hop is mostly black. The media is going to jump on that and focus only on the negative. I know a lot of Hip Hop artists give back to the community. If Hip Hop is so bad, why is white executives making millions of dollars off of it. Hip Hop is everywhere even in commercials? The Pillsbury Dough Boy is rapping. Like everything in life there is good and bad.

Hip hop is a voice for the voiceless, that should be good for ANY society.
Hip Hop is worldwide now and you don't see the problems with hip hop in other countries like in the US.
I think the question is, Is Our Society Good For Hip Hop?

How can hip hop be bad? Hip hop is crunk music. Music to dance to. If you are going to talk badly about something, first make sure you know what you are talking about. Hip hop and rap is not the same.

good question. It's not the hip hop - it's the behavior that it's followers that bothers me who use hip hop as an excuse for their lifestyle.

It depends on what kind of music the lyrics are saying, I think since we have music that talk about innapropriate things it is terrible for our society and the teenagers and children.
