Don't get me wrong, I have seen many ugly gay men.....but the majority of them are more attractive than the straight ones......so why is that?

I also have the same question before and good thing my boss answered it. Let's take her as an example, she's a pretty lady yet more attracted to gay men. This is due to personal grooming. Real men are not really conscious of how they look, what to wear, specially the hairstyle. Gay men are vein, they wear color coordinate clothes ( and most of the time , signature clothes) and they have well coiffed hair all the time. Girls like gay men because they know how to take take of themselves unlike straight men who are more laid back.

Men are usually attracted by visual signals and women are usually attracted by emotional signals. This is why 'adult' media is geared towards men and romance novels and greeting cards are geared towards women.
Since gay men are trying to get another man to be interested in them, they naturally focus on the visual aspect by making themselves look good for another man. Since straight men are trying to get a woman to be interested in them, they will focus on the emotional aspect by saying the right words or showing a sign of affection such as flowers or a card to interest a woman.

I hate to stereotype, but most gay men are probably more well-groomed than straight men. They look after their appearance better than straight guys. Personally, i find straight men, or rather, straight looking/acting men more attractive. Don't like the emo thing...

Because we aren't so arrogant as straight men, to think that we still look hot in a faded, stained shirt, carrying extra weight, and having had our haircut done at the cheapest place in town. It gets even better in bed, because unlike straight men, we don't think that foreplay is 20 seconds of hard rubbing. :)
