In other words - are there democrats that are decent people?

Not any that I know of. I'm talking about liberals here. I think their mindset is just completely wrong and destructive.

I don't believe that politics can ever be seperated from personality- the two are very intimately connected!
In fact, i believe that political parties are based on personality. Example: Mussolini was a very controlling person, therefore he instigated fascism.
If politics was not based on perspective and personality how else are we supposed to decide what our political views are?
Oh- And for the second part of your question- I happen to be offended by your desicion to criticize people belonging to the democratic party. I am a proud democrat, and i would never think of complaining about anyone elses' views. You obviously need to do your research before you make a startement like that.

I am a Republican and most of my friends are Democrats. They refuse to talk politics with me because they hate being wrong.

no... someone's personality is their core and an indicator to their political persuasion. whiney people are generally of the liberal persuasion. self-reliant types who do not turn to the goverment to rule over every aspect of their life are generally conservative.
