The only difference between the children and the adult version of Harry Potter is the picture on the cover. In fact the only reason that there is even an adult version is because the book was so popular when it came out with adults as well as children, that an adult version was made so that all the adults reading it on the train would look a bit more respectable instead of being stared and laughed at for reading what was obviously a children's book.

nope, just basically the "children" version's the billberry (or something like that) and raincoast's commonly more seen cover. and larger in carrying size and stuff. the "adult" version has a more realistic image on the cover and not as colourful. i think they most likely come mainly in paperback too. whereas many of the children's version when they first come out are in hardcover. scholastic has a cover version of their own too, and like its in a colour scheme. like for example the order of the pheonix (or maybe 1/2 blood...) is mainly blue and has harry and dumbledore over a couldron for scholastic. for children's it was a colourful pheonix, and adlut's, a stone scupture or something that looked like that, of a pheonix

The only thing different is the cover art for the adult version, it is more mature.
