I once seen a dragon fly that was so large I thought it was a remote control flying toy. it was so big it did not look real. about a foot and a half long. no kidding. I thought it was fake until it zoomed past my head. seeing it up close sent me running, screaming and jumping over fences to get away from it. never saw one that big ever again in my life.

experiME… I'm sure that draganflys live longer than a day. I think it is a few months they live but not sure exactly. I think you are thinking of a mayfly or something simular.
If it was not a dragonfly I saw then I don't know what kind of insect it was. It looked exactly like a dragonfly. it was also all dark, like all black or all dark brown. It was in tall grass.
but like I said, I have never again seen one so large in my life. this was about 28 or 29 years ago.

A Moth. It must have been 8 inches across!! And it was moving! But, it was dead and ants were carring it away. Freaky!!

These 4 inch long cockroaches in my office. they are soooo gross. When the exterminator comes, they are in the floor for a week. They can fly too! Terrifying!

There are some mosquitos in south Louisiana that look like they could carry you off. Also in England their snails are like ten times bigger than any I've seen here.

They have giant cockroaches in the Philippines.... some of them are about six inches long and they fly.... it gives me the heeby jeebies just thinking about them...

The roaches in Biloxi MS are huge, I saw one raping my cat with a big smile on his face. It was SCARY!

it wusn't an insect, but it wus about a 2 foot plus worm in tha rain, an its body wus thicker then a pencil, aahhhh~!!!! â¥
