Ok so I made a friend who is deaf and he introduced me to some of his deaf friends. I am now good friends with many of them. And I do know asl and see. My hearing friends think since I know so many of them that I'm obsessed. Does any1 here think that? Answer honestly. Also I had the thought that maybe they were jealous that I had so many friends and they think I don't spend enough time with them, which I don't think, I do spend time with them. What should I do I need help. Also they talk about him when he is sitting right there that is extreamly rude or even mean but I don't know what to do about besides stand up for him and they get mad at me when I do that. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

You should reconsider you relationships with your hearing friends.

They obviously think they are better than your deaf friends and they clearly resent the fact that 'one of their own' is now friends with 'them'.

You keep doing what you do and if they have a problem with that, then I'm sure you have some fingers that will tell them where they can go.

Your hearing friends are insensitive bigots.

No wonder you like deaf people.

I don't quite know how you want to do this. Options include:

o Confront them. Tell them they are insensitive bigots. Ultimatum time - think this one through before you do it - are you ready to cut yourself out of a social group cos they are dumb idiots? (I usually am - but many people who are insecure about not having a social group might not be)

o Ignore their issues and hope they'll grow up. This will lead to ongoing issues between the two social groups. You can juggle and keep them apart.

o Cut them out of your life directly without doing the ultimatum thing. Useful for REALLY dumb idiots.

No, you aren't obsessed. You just decided that his not being able to hear didn't disqualify him from being friends for you.

Two, your hearing friends are clearly telling you what assh*les they are by insulting a deaf kid that can't even hear what they say. Dump them. IMMEDIATELY!
