one of the first things to make a room look extra nice is if it has a theme... you know like your favorite sport, nature, the ocean, the beach, your favorite celeb or favorite tv show... make sure your bedding goes with your theme. (mine is like an ocean/nature mix theme.. I caught a bedding set on clearance at walmart... and a sweet rug too... and then i have a few pictures in frames on my walls, i picked up a few little odds and ends at some yard sales... i didnt pay more than 50 dollars to decorate my room (other than my bedroom set) and it looks fantastic!!! good luck. by the way i like that idea of the glitter on the wet paint... good answer.

My daughter is very girly. She is 9 yrs old and loves pink. We painted her room pink and before the paint would dry, we blew glitter on it. The room looks like something out of the Disney World resorts now.

Just an Idea.

Home and Garden TV has a space called "Rate my Room" where you can view other people's rooms. It is great for getting overall ideas and seeing how other people take similar themes and use different budgets to make their rooms come together. Good luck with your room, hope you enjoy this site.
