No...not if the husband won't vow the same. If men are not obediant to their wives, why should the wives be obediant? No gender is inferior to another..meaning husbands are not superior. Therefore, nobody should have to be obediant...marriage is a compromise with a little of sacrifice..not sacrifice with a little bit of comropmise.

any wedding should be a 50/50 union I think the best thing for a bride and groom to do is to write their own vows

Yes, wifes should be totally obedient to their husband. That is totally completely a womans reason when she gets married. She has the years before she gets married to do whatever she wants. That is enough.

Sure, I believe wives should be obedient to their husbands. IF their husband is doing what the Bible says he should do as well. See Ephesians.

No. People (men or women) are not dogs or children. I vowed to love honor and cherish. I love my husband, if he needs me to do something for me he will ask respectfully and because I love him I will do my best to do what he needs. The same is true for what he will do for me.

Yes, I do. I also think that they should add to the husband's part, " I understand that having sex with a hooker, the girl at work, the girl after work, the girl I met on the internet, and the one night stand ho all count as being unfaithful, and swear not to do it."

I agree with #1 & 2 but it took us women a long time to free ourselves from having to listen to the man.
and to answer the other question I think it would be better if both could cooperate.

I have to agree with emperor. it also applies to the men, anyone who gets married should take their vows seriously and equally. and just because people get married does not mean they own them . they should respect their vows too.
