I agree, it is very annoying, sometimes I can't even work out what the question setter is asking.

It's "grammar" isn't it? It used to be that they were teaching priorities. But God knows what the priorities are now! I don't mind bad grammar and spelling myself, but I do think that it shows how badly the British education system has fallen. The real problem is that kids don't seem to be taught how to think for themselves (which is why philosophy is such an important academic subject). That's why so many young people seem to have very negative views of the world, because the media seem to love concentrating on those aspects. Critical faculties do not seem to matter today. The end result of that will be the end of our culture.
I would also mention that some computer keyboards are garbage and degrade very quickly. This adds to the grammatical errors.

Spelling and grammar are not always considered important in schools nowadays as they were in the "olden days". We had spelling tests and had our grammar corrected in our school work. Years later in schools, the emphasis was on the ability to express yourself, without necessarily using correct spellings, sentence structure or even grammar. It is a shame that, even though the option of spellcheck is readily available, it is not used by some people who must realise that their spelling leaves a lot to be desired.

Blame it on the Government. While blaming the government is still permitted.
It hasn't enough money to provide a decent education for 5 to 16 year olds and now it wants to increase compulsory education to 18. What's that about?

Language is the way to express your ideas, thoughts and feelings to others, so it should be simple and easy to understand, in today's world of internet everyone is in hurry ( to ask a ques. or to answer) so no one pays attention to grammar and spelling mistakes, but evevn then our minds are so much developed that we understand the things even if they are grammatically wrong just check out business and buisness, you and u, to and 2, see and c, ther are numerous examples, people used to invent their own language over a period of time.

I definatly know what you mean, some of the questions are so bad in terms of the spelling, that you can't even read them. im not going to act like i type perfect, becuase i dont, but if i totally butcher a word, i use spell check! its right there for goodness sakes! that makes it so simple, yet still, we suck at spelling. and the their there and they're and your, you're. its just terrfiying that we are that unconcerned and uneducated. i fear that the keyboard will replace all hand writing and we will sT@rT SpeLlIng LiKe THiS AlL ThE TiM3!!!! i'll go insane!

Why is the spelling and GRAMMAR on this question site so terrible?
Because no one, including you, takes time to run spell check or to read what they have written.

this site is international so many of the active people here don't speak English as their mother tongue.
That could be one reason, and same way that I don't expect you to speak fluent Indian, you cant expect their English to be fluent.
Also because people type fastttt and don't bother checking before submitting their answers. and grammar probably because like me, I don't think of what I write, i type it automatically form my head.... And when I think in my head I don't really think of the grammar that I use.

Your own spelling and grammar are imperfect.
Others have already drawn your attention to the spelling of "grammar".
You have also ommitted an "are" between "their" and "constantly".
But, and I should not begin a sentence with a conjunctive, my own spelling and grammar are not perfect.

Well Tony A you might be able to spell grammar but your use of it isn't so hot. It should actually be 'they're' short for 'they are'.
