Well, mine's a golden olive, so I go with the colors that look best on my skin tone. Metallic colors such as copper and bronze work best with that. You have to know what colors complement your particular skin tone, and the only way to do that is to experiment. If you know what colors look best against your skin, you'll have an easier time.

u look at ur skin and then get a couple of lip sticks that u think look like ur skin and then rub the lipstick on ur palm and see if its the same color

ur gonna have to do a lil buy and try but usually u match it wit ur skins undertones. if ur skin has a pink tint to it sometimes a neutral pink are the best, etc.
