A rat! I am serious, they are the most intelligent pet out there, and they are kind, loving and very tolerant, even of the occassional little hands that squeeze them and stuff like that. They do not have the musky odor like other rodents. They can be litter trained, though they will return to their cage for business anyway, (assuming you don't keep them caged all the time, I never did).

theres is no way to be certain that you will get a pet with all of those qualities. all pets have the ability to bite, not all will but they all can- so thats out. some dogs are clever, some are not. same with any other kind of animal.- so thats out too. obedience will be the hardest because not all animals are willing to obey, trust me, i have a few that just cant grasp the concept. the only thing that can help you, is to adopt your pet, that way the people at the shelter can give you an idea of what the pet you choose has been like and theres a possibility, hell continue to be that way.

If you have never owned a bird before I would say to get a Parakeet, Lovebird or Cockatiel. You should get a handfed one but there is never a guarantee that a bird wont ever bite you. Depending on how you treat the bird will also determine if you will bite you or no.
Before you buy a bird educate your self about the bird you are interested in getting. You will need to learn about their diets, housing needs, medical needs and the amount of care they will require.
Many birds have a very long life spans and if can not commit your self to be there to care for them then you may not want to get a bird.

Anything that has a mouth can bite. I think you should spend more time working on your grammar, and less time worrying about getting an animal.
