What kind of topics would it touch on? Would it contain editorials?

It would touch on the current battle(s) being fought, and the casualties. It would probably underestimate the casualties on the side of the Civil War that the paper is located in, and it would overestimate the enemy's dead.

Work that was supporting the war effort would be mentioned, such as factory workers and how civilians could help their side's cause.

I bet it contained editorials; during any war, editorials run the gamot.

Propanganda against the Confederates or the Union depends on which side it was published. Also heroic stories of the men fighting on the border states
