Can you recommend me which free antivirus is better to work on 256 mb ram?
* AVG is the best free version, stick with it
Is it safe to download any software from download.com?
* Yes, as long as you know what you're downloading. The user reviews are helpful in determining the "safeness" of a file.
What is the differences of malware and spyware?
* Malware = all bad software (viruses, adware, spyware, keyloggers, dialers, etc.)
* Spyware = A subset of malware commonly highjacks browsers, tracks browser history, eats up computer resources.
what happen if i use two antivirus at the same time?
* your system will be so unusable that you will want to pound it with a sledge hammer, then shoot it, then bury it, dig it up and shake the hell outta the broken peices, kick it, throw it out the window and put the scraps into your next garage sale. Uninstall one before installing another.

It is true that Norton slows down the system and it abruptly interrupts us while working. Since your AVG software works just fine for the other computer then why not uninstall Norton from your laptop and install AVG? Don't worry it is legal. Once you have removed all Norton software and installed AVG your computer will no longer be slowing down. Trust me, this is true. If not AVG, then any other free Anti-Virus would do; download.com is a great idea and no problems there. Malware stands for malicious software, when you view nude sites on the internet, etc. Spyware, is the most common in many computers, they expose the status of your system to other viewers on the web especially hackers. They even cause system crashes and allow hackers to take control over computer. To prevent such a thing, you need an Anti-Virus that has scored a lot of hits in Download.com. If you're planning to use two anti-virus at the same time, it won't be such a problem, and the chances of viruses invading the system will be reduced and security tightened. Although sometimes, it cannot be done because before downloading another anti-virus it will prompt you to remove the other anti-virus. Besides, using two anti-virus at the same time will slow down the system and consume a lot of memory. Back to the top, AVG is better and it won't slow down the system.

Well, avg seems to work fine, so delete nortons from your laptap and replace it with avg. AVG is a smaller resource hog than nortons.

All software on download.com my not be safe, but usually if it has good reviews/rating it is a little safer.

Malware are virus on your computer that are made to somehow damage or negatively affect your computer. Spyware are programs designed to record your activities on the internet and send them to the originator. They also download malware, change some settings. The line between the two is graying, and some antivrus even call certain types of either graywere.

You can also run online virus/spy scans such as the one found at http://www.trendmicro.com

Disable Norton's, then you don't have to remove it unless you're running out of space, getting rid of it is a huge issue.
I use Avast Personal, nothing's gotten past there, it's small and hyper-efficient.
Download .com is like softpedia.com, it's a safe download source since they test their stuff. I use it all the time and have had no problem.
Basically, spyware collects your personal info and sends it back somewhere, malware just mucks up your PC, doesn't feed anything back to anywhere else.

Norton sucks. Alot of poeple get suckered into buying it anyways. Uhhm. Try avast it's free but I am not sure how good it is. Or even better Nod32 but it costs money. It runs basically invisible and has a high detection rate.
