Women were the nurses and the support systems for the injured soldiers. Women nurtured and took care of the soldiers while they were sick. These men wanted to get better for their nurses. They did not want to let them down.

Women (wives, girlfriends) were the reasons that many of the soldiers continued on everyday. They were the strength and support for their husbands fighting a war miles and miles away. Their wives/girlfriends are the reasons that these soldiers strived to continue to live. They wanted to get to go home and see their women again.

Men fought and continue to fight these wars so that their wives, sisters, and daughters don't have to!!

That may not help you much... but I'd thought I'd tell you a couple of my thoughts about women in WWII.

Check these sites. Women nurses were fundamental in all wars so it would be a great place to start. Also, women back in the states took over many of the jobs that were considered for men only because there wasn't any one else to do them. Think Rosie the Riveter if you have ever seen that poster.

I see you want to have the point of view of the Allies. However I want to tell you something disgraceful about the role of women as Hitler saw it. He wanted women as breeders of his Germanic superior race (Germanische Herrenrasse) and planned his "Lebensborn" (source of life).
