Sometimes it takes a couple of years for your period to even out. However, you should still talk to a doctor just to be sure you're not having any hormonal problems or cysts. Why does your mom take a year to take you to see a doctor?

well it takes a while 4 ur menstrual cycle 2 adjust so it could just b that it hasn regulateditself yet. wen grls first get there periods, it can take 1 or 2 yrs for there periods 2 come in a very predictable, regular manner. if ur still in this irregular period [ur periods hav been coming at random times] then u shouldn worry. stress and even diet can throw it off for a while. however, im no doc, but 3 mos seems kinda long. if u hav had sex, even tho u may not be pregnant, it couold b that u hav an std. look on i think plannedparenthood or google wat the laws about privacy r in ur area. u may want 2 schedule a meeting at a place like planned parenthood so that u can get some std tests so u can noe if thats an issue. u wanna catch that kinda thing early....
good luck!!!!!!!!

If you are sexually active take a pregnancy test because you could very well be pregnant!
If not (even if) you need to go to the doctor.. once a year is not enough if you are having issues..such as no period for 3 months and it has never happened before. Though you are young and periods can be irregular a gyno can give you something to regulate you as well as make sure there are no serious problems
there is nothing wrong with going to the doctor. Talk to your mom. then get the appointment made.
Go. Now.

When you're young, periods tend to be irregular. This may be nothing more than that. However, it could be a sign of a serious health problem, and sorry, you really do need to see a doctor! Your mom needs to take better care of you!
Sometimes periods stop if you are underweight, seriously overweight, or if you have been doing an unusual amount of strenuous exercise. I had a friend who was a gymnast and didn't ever have a period until she gave it up at 15.

If you're not sexually active then don;t worry. At your age it is more than likely just your body settling into it's own rhythm. Even when you get older from time to time your regular cycle will change in length, time between, flow, any of it can change. You should have your mom make you an appointment just to be sure even if it takes her the year you say, but in the meantime don't worry. Any stress you may be feeling can delay it as well, maybe over something at school, your friends, or a boy.

It sounds like you have PCOS.
You can search for it on Google.
I have it and it causes your periods to be irregular. First they start out only a little irregular and then as you get older they get worse. Sometimes I only get 1 period a year and this year I had a period that lasted 2 1/2 months.
It is something that you will eventually need to get looked at by a Doctor, especially when you're older and ready to have kids.

What you probably have is a hormone unbalance, as somebody said before, it takes sometime to your body to get adjusted. Remember we have 2 ovaries, the are supposed to take turns to ovulate, then we get our period, sometimes the egg is not developed (hormonal resons) and then you don't get it ready for fertilization, so it doesn't die, then you don't bleed or have your period (same thing). So, is it normal? yes. Should you worried? yes, but not that much. Should you go to de doctor? Yes, you should, because beeing a girl you are going to blow this out of proportions in your mind, and this will be a bigger issue than it probably is, so talk to your mom and just go to the doctor. hope it helps. Good luck

I'm 45 years old, I've had periods since i was 9....the first 3 or 4 years you can be very irregular....i went for 6 months one time...i was never truly regular until after I had my first baby....so as long as you have no pain, and you feel fine, don't worry about it at all...actually the more you worry about it, the longer it will stay away, at least that is the way i am....any kind of stress either brings it on, or makes it stay away
so no worries, as long as you aren't having sex AT ALL don't worry it....if you are having sex, even with a condom, you could be pregnant, they get little holes in them and that is all you need.....

dont count on your mom for the rides. im not saying this is serious, but you should talk to a doctor. your periods may not be regular quite yet because you are still young. call a taxi or take the bus to your doctor. maybe ask a relative to take you.

if you havent had any sex at all and that your periods are regular
then the only thing that comes to my mind is that if you do A LOT of sports all the time. If you are Extremely . ( Very) althetic then its very normal for you to not have your periods.
my bestfriend is very very althetic and she had her period in gr 9.. at the age of 15 and since then (shes now 17) she only got her period twice. she went to see the doctor and he said its because shes too sportive
very normal
but ill sugget to talk to your parents and go see the doctor :)
