Removing the CMOS battery from the motherboard for a minute and reinstalling it sets your BIOS to default, but if there are special config settings that were made other than default then you will lose them. Call Compaq supprot. They have a method to change the password, or remove it. Dell does... by entering a special ID number they have to generate for you. There is a clear password jumper you can set on your mobo also. It is actually marked on the board somewhere. There are also backdoor passwords that can be used. You need to know the BIOS type, like AMI Bios, Award, etc.

I guess other people have given this same answer too, but anyways, try removing the battery from the motherboard for a few minutes so BIOS will be restored to Default then put it back in. Or much better to avoid damage to the motheboard and warranty, just give it to technicians who will sign in a factory code to reset the password.

Try safe mode. By default there is no password to the administrator account in safe mode.
