My mom was hit by a tractor trailer in a freak accident, one leg was ripped clean off and her arm was completely twisted around. It was gross. Remember, the more graphic and detailed the lie, the more believable it is.

Bumped my head; car accident on my one way street - cops and ambulances blocking off the road; had to take cat/dog/kid to the vet/hospital; ran over a bird and had to take it to the vet; gastro; migraine; sick relative dying in hospital; the possibilites are endless!
