I work, and I'm in school. I just don't have time for gym, nor am I too excited about going there and lifting weights. I know some guys who just do push ups at home and they look like they visit the gym regularly. Could it do me the same? Did it work for you, or did you eventually start going to the gym? Thanks!

Something i read on mens health:
Do as many regular pushups as you can in one minute, rest one minute then do modified pushups ( on knees instead of toes) as many as u can in one minute
do this routine at least twice a day,
ur pecs, (boobs) will be sore the next day, if not try harder

Try this instead. Do 10 push-ups, wait 5 minutes, then do 10 more. Do it 4 times so you end up doing 40. Its easier than doing all 40 in a row. Do it 4 times a week, and every couple weeks add a few to each set. That should be good to start. Mix in some sit-ups too.

20 push ups a day won't get what you want. Do 4 sets of 10 push ups or more if you can handle it but elevate your feet by placing them on the edge of your bed or on a chair. As you do more of these types of push ups continue to elevate feet, maybe use a table or dresser, and your upper body will get a great workout. It worked for me.

doing pushups alone wont get you a body you see on the cover of mens health, but it can help. I'd agree with what most people are saying, do them in reps. You will eventually platue as your body become immune to the acitivity, try doing other sorts of pushups like put your hands close togther and form a diamond with your thumbs and pointer fingures, this will work the triceps more. Push-ups wont get you washboard abs, do sit-up/crunches/ leg lifts as well.

try and do 50, (5 sets of 10). once you start working out you'll do other things too. if you do between 30 and 50 everyday, id say it would take about a week and a half and you'll see some pretty impressive results. good luck!

Push ups are good as many as you can do a day. But also watch your diet. Don't eat too much.
