When I was growing up the only people who wore denim were children, blue-collar workers, and farmers. But now it seems like everywhere you look you see people wearing denim for all sorts of occasions whether it be a play, interview, or business casual events. I'm not saying it's wrong. I understand that society and style will change even if I personally detest denim, but I still wonder if anyone can pinpoint when this phenomenon. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your input.

I really don't know when this happened, however I do work for the State of West Virginia and about a year ago, State workers are not allowed to wear "blue" jeans (unless they work for the highway department). I prefer to wear denim due to my work, cause I'm around dirt, paint, grease...etc. and playing basketball in nice clothes don't cut it for me.
