Yes, the answer is B. Prefrontal cortex development results in increased over emotions and impulsivity. This area of the brain is important in an area of cognition termed executive functions which allows us exercise control over behaviors, work towards a goal and anticipate consequences of an action. It is not an issue of brain chemistry, better language or increased development from a Piagetian standpoint.

B - development of the prefrontal cortex allows for goal-directed behavior and thinking about consequences

a) is a bullsh*t answer
c) emotional control has little to do with language
d) concrete operational has more to do with hypothetical and abstract thinking than emotional regulation

"his thinking has developed to the concrete operational stage" - How very Piagetian of you. Piaget is as about un-scientific as a theory can get, therefor "d" is definitely not the answer.

I vote "c". As children learn to articulate their needs, they are less ikely to become frustrated and throw a fit. Also, as language develops, they can better understand concepts such as waiting for a reward.

"concrete operational stage" ?
sorry, im dutch so english is not my main language.

If concrete operational stage means he is learning through
choosing what works and what doesnt than it would be answer d.

If you learn, whatever you learn will effect your brain chemstry (a)
this will also stimulate the front cortex to develop (b),
and because language also has to do with interaction.
a+b+c = d.
