I sprayed some gasoline over the top of my sportbike by accident, and it seems like it damaged the paint on the frame and the rubber duct cover slightly... though I could be imagining it.

Yes, gas is not good for paint. Try and use a buffer with wax and buff it out.

Yes, Gasoline cuts thru the wax coat and washed it away which will cause it to dull and be unprotected from the enviornments harsh elements...

beating hot sun, rain with water/salt content, acidic rain, etc... all get to your paint now easily... befor the wax coat was fending these things off...

you need to get some good wax or a polishing compound and a really soft cloth and buff out your paint to reapply a protective wax coating ...

this will restore the shine to your bike

Gasoline will eat paint. I believe 3m makes a protective film that would be a good solution, as you clean the surface and stick it on.

No, you probably did! Gasoline can damage any plastic parts, decals, etc. It will also dull the clear coat finish! Years ago we used kerosene and that does a real nice job getting bugs and other things off without messing up the finish. It actually removes the road film and so it has a real nice shine!

gasoline will not harm your car, just rinse it off and wash the whole thing , the plastic parts will be ok just wash it as soon as possible , believe me I know.
