Different states have been going after big online and catalog companies to collect sales taxes on items shipped to their state.

If your state has a sales tax, you have always been legally responsible for reporting items purchased online and through catalogs, for which you did not pay sales tax--then you are supposed to send the tax to your state's revenue department.

Because states have lost so much tax revenue to online stores, they started to go after those online companies to collect the sales taxes the states lost out on. Some states have added this reporting requirement to their state income tax returns.

Expect many more online companies to start collecting sales taxes in the future.

do no longer purchase a Dell. they're between the worst computers I easily have ever used. in case you elect for to basically examine your e mail, and do be conscious processing, then a Dell is nice. yet once you elect for to do any fancy intense tech stuff, or gaming, then i could advise heavily upgrading it, or finding out on a various kind.

Depends on your state, methinks. I remember hearing somewhere that Washington state (along with others, of which I don't remember) has a mandatory tax for all internet purchases, be they from in the state or not. Check your local tax legislation, perhaps?

It depends where it ships from & where it ships to.
If it ships from & to the same state or province they must charge tax (by law).
