Here is my question for discussion: How many of you feel that Drew Rosenhaus is hurting sports by trying to milk contracts even for mediocre players into million dollar contracts? There is a second part of the question: Do you also feel this continued assault on the sports will make it to the point where an average joe will be priced out of seeing a game in person?

This is a partial list. He gets players to hold out which hurts the game and has them complain after the first year of a contract to try and get more.

He is part of the reason that people don't like a lot of the players now. He goes in and not only get these huge paydays for players that don't deserve it, but he is constantly on tv. I don't want to see an agent on tv talking about how much a player deserves what he's making, and why he's the best in the league, while making himself a celebrity. To answer part 2, it's the owners that decided to throw all this money around in the first place. The agents were just smart enough to take advantage of a trend. But yes, I think the trend will make it virtually impossible for a real fan to see a game.

you are first off, clearly biased against rosenhaus in this question, and second off, fairly uneducated about the majority of his clients

a fair number of his clients are star players, and those are the players for whom he establishes million dollar deals and gets in the headlines...and he's only doing what he is paid by his clients to do, and that is get them the best possible deal...he's the best at what he does and certainly that does not make him a leech who hurts the sports world

and it will never come to the point where average people would be priced out, because if that were true attendance would be so low that the franchises and league would lose money anyways and have to bring the prices down to fill the seats

He's not hurting sports at all. The teams will pay what the market bears. The average joe priced out myth is getting old too. Most NFL games are sold out and will continue to do so. It's the TV money that allows teams to pay big bucks for "mediocre" players anyway.

Just FYI: no one on your list is a particularly bad player. They're worth the money in most cases.
