aren't we more a product of our environment, i was brought up around all kinds of people and i have no fear of anything different then myself but i see so many who were brought up in areas where there wasn't this variety (i guess you can call it) and they get their panties in a bunch over things that are just not worth the effort. am i just too laid back about all this?

Hopefully it doesn't ......I hope that my definition as a person comes from my personal achievements....be it family, work, etc....I have not let my meager upbringing hinder my spirit....I am educated, loving, and try always to do the right thing.....I chose to rise above the poverty I was born into.....and to teach my children that anything can be achieved through hard work, especially with the support of family and friends through encouragement and kindness....
I've always believed that I am color blind in that aspect of diversity and have taught my children to be color blind too.....

It's probably safe to assume you've never been to Sunday service at a Black Baptist church.

Live and learn.

The color of your skin means the color of your skin pretty much back then color was a bad thing you had to be white but nowadays color don't matta it is your personality and what you do that matters so i don't know maybe you're stuck in the 60's

discrimination and hate is the product of one man's beliefs that spread to other people

the kids that were born in the 60's were manipulated by society to believe that black or minorities kids were bad

colour doesn't define who we are or what we are. we are who we are with the way we were brought up and being educated (at home). as for the third line of your statement - people are not willing to accept changes and differences as it make people insecure.

It doesn't for me. My personality describes me all the way! People just want to be hurtful and judgemental, to make themselves feel better, but it just makes them look like the jackasses they are.
