French for "already seen", also called paramnesia, the phrase déjà vu describes the experience of feeling that one has experienced a situation previously. The term was coined by a French psychic researcher, Émile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques (The Future of Psychic Sciences), which expanded upon an essay he wrote while an undergraduate French concentrator at the University of Chicago. The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eeriness", "strangeness", or "weirdness". The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past.

Deja vu refers to the feeling like you've been somewhere before, seen something before, said or done something before in the exact same circumstances. It doesn't exist in your regular memories, only through a "sixth sense" of sorts. Even though consciously, you KNOW you've never been there/done that, something inside you tells you that you KNOW what's going to happen.
It's very weird but very cool.

The feeling that you have experienced the present feeling in the past or have seen the place in the past. When something happens to you, which you somehow sensed was going to happen, its deja vu too.
