People may not vote becuase that their opinion will not be heard in the election process. Others may not vote becuase they feel that they are not being fairly, if at all, represented by those who are running. Others might not vote because they believe that the election process is not fair and just a bunch of mud-slinging.

Many people believe that their vote just doesn't count. In some instances they are right! I live in a state that is Republican dominated so no matter how we vote the Electoral College from this state goes Republican! On rare occasions they throw the Democrats a crumb; we have a Senator that is a Democrat.
Also, I don't believe the schools push the importance of civic participation, pride in being American & the duties of being a good citizen.

People don't vote because of two reasons:
1. They feel their vote doesn't count. What's one in a million, they say. There is no sense of responsibility to participate in the democratic process because they are either too downtrodden and have more important things on their mind or they are too rich and they won't bother.
2. They feel that we have very little to vote for. There are no candidates that bring them the enthusiasm such as John Kennedy, Ronald Reagan or "heaven forbid", Bill Clinton. Today we have a choice between an Obama-flavor of the Month, a lady with poor history of management (Hillary) with her marriage and her law firm, and ex-mayor who happens to be too liberal for his political party, or a war hero that is out of touch with many of today's Americans. People don't vote because they have little choices.

I know why alot of people don't vote , because they know regardless who gets voted in by them or anyone else nothing will change, the promises made or changes to be done will never be accomplished. So why bother. Why put your self out. Everything stays the same.

People think that it does not matter if they vote.....JUST BECAUSE THE CHEATING AND SCAMS WENT ON IN 2000 DOES NOT MEAN THE PEOPLE FORGOT!! MR.BUSH NEVER WAS ELECTED THEN AND IT WAS A TERRIBLE TIME FOR THE USA!! WE THE PEOPLE NEW THAT AL GORE WON, BUT THE DAMN GOVERNMENT BASICALLY TOLD US TO SCREW OFF. WITH THAT BEING SAID CAN YOU UNDERSTAND WHY SOME PEOPLE GOT DISCOURAGED FROM VOTING WHEN IN 2000 THEIR VOTE DID NOT MATTER!! IT WAS ALL ABOUT WHO HAD THE MOST MONEY AND PULL IN THE WHITE HOUSE AT THAT JUNCTURE.

Many people don't vote because they aren't registered. Not a problem in Wisconsin. Like several other states,we have election day registration. Our voter turnout is higher than most other states.

Look at what we get!
Anybody that is honest, and or has a particle of brain matter is thoroughly bashed by the media.
Only a FOOL or a CROOK would take a job in government at this point in time, and we have an abundance of both.

Because it doesn't matter.
Politics has devolved into a selfish party-driven scam.
Professional politicians do not care about the country, the people, or the world. They only care about futhering their respective parties and their own self-interests.

They are embarrassed to fill in the bubble for a babykilling, tax raising, gay marriaging, war-surrendering liberal.
