That would depend...
- where in the philippines you'll be staying (Manila, province, etc)?
- if you will be staying w/ relatives or friends here?
- or if you will be staying in hotels?
- on how you plan to spend your 13 days.

It would really depend on what you intend to do and where you want to go. If you want to go as a real tourist, the most number of places you could go to (that you would reasonably enjoy) would be three places, owing to the distances of beautiful places from each other. But it would be better if you only go to two areas only where you can enjoy a number touristic spots.

In that case, suggested places not to be missed would be Banaue, Bontoc and Sagada in Northern Luzon and then off to Boracay in Aklan, in the Visayan region. Alternatively, for beach places, you can go to Puerto Galera or if you can afford it, to El Nido or other Honda Bay resorts in Palawan.

Or you can just go to Bolinao and Hundred Islands from the Banaue and Sagada trip. This would involve a very low budget.

Air fares between islands and other transport cost would be around $300-$400. Staying in hotels with rates ranging from $45-80 a night depending on your preference from low to mid-range accommodations. Your $1000 would be enough.

You have to add a little more if you intend to go shopping. Please take note that the estimated expenses cover only stay in the Philippines exlusive of the fare to and from the country.

it depends on your lifestyle and where you are going... if you are not that sure...try these... how much do you usually spend when going to a place in your country for that long... you'll spend less here in the philippines if your money is $. if you want to bring home souvenirs...bring more money...just bring any credit card just in case you run short of cash... you could always instruct your relatives so in case you'll be needing additional cash they can send cash thru western union and in about an hour you can receive the money as long as there is a western union near the place.

1, 000.00 USD for one person, would do for a not so lavish lifestyle. accomodations, food and expenses for extra activities included. and you would even get to bring home lots of good souvenirs.
