This answer is coming from a teacher's point of view. I understand that this may not be what you want to hear, but it is always healthy to examine things from the other person's point of view.
Revision is defined as changing for clarity and or elaboration. Your professor may have also asked you to edit for conventions and grammar. It is likely that your professor read your paper and saw definite potential in the paper; perhaps you showed that you had some good ideas or had excellent organization. Your professor may have felt you could make a better grade if you looked at it again. I would say your professor was trying to give you a second chance to show how well you could do.
As for not notating every page, I commend him. It would have been discouraging to see red marks all over your entire paper, and it would have been burdensome for your professor. He or she was likely trying to save you from feeling overwhelmed.
Sometimes notes teachers write may come across sounding vague or insensitive, but please consider that your teacher may be trying to help you do your best. I encourage you to try to revise for elaboration and clarity and see if you don't do even better than you did the first time. Remember, if your professor thought there was no hope for you or your paper, he or she would not have gone through the trouble of writing you a note and asking you to revise.

I think you are misleading these folks. They aren't aware of how to review papers via computer.
Your professor probably had many comments in the reviewing functions of MSWord. When I grade papers I point out an error ONCE. Once I point it out its up to the student to get the drift.
I'd say you were lucky that you HAVE a chance to revise it.
You could have an "F".

Well, he/she's your professor, right? They gotta know what they're talking about. The note they left seems slightly obtuse, and doesn't point to anything in particular, so I guess you're gonna have to go through your thesis again and try to see what they were seeing in your report. But, they offered to help, so I can't be all bad.

You know, my husband is getting his masters and is in the process of writing his thesis too. We've decided that we hate professors. The only notes they give are "We need to talk" and "See me for revisions". Most of the time, the professor either reschedules the meeting or "forgets" to show up (really, I kid you not...one actually forgot to show up!). I guess when you're too busy to help students because you're too busy remodeling your home (with all the money you get from...well....not helping students...) that makes everything okay.
And then one professor thinks his paper is great, and another one thinks it's crap.
I guess what I'm getting at is don't beat yourself up.

It menas that the general structure of your thesis could use some tune-up. You need to use the teacher's notes and references as a guideline in order for your thesis to be acceptable.

Hi..from a learning coach
The ball is in your court..study the feedback.
Your research may be your weakest link.
Look at what you are doing and try and work out what is the weakest aspect of your writing..then fix it!
