I believe it is called an amine. Amines (derived from the word ammonia) are basic nitrate anions (NH4). Since the valence of nitrogen is +5 and the valence of hydrogen is -1 (and with four it is -4), the amine anion has a net valence of +1. This enables it to combine with carbon and other elements to form biotic compounds.
