My boyfriend of 6 years asked me to marry him. We really dont have the money for a BIG wedding that we really want. I figured we could have a wounderful small wedding. Thats better then nothing at all. I was woundering if anyone out there had any good cheap ideas for thing that i could do. I made my own invites and i found out that it is a lot cheaper to make thing then to order them or buy them. so if u have any ideas and think u could help let me know. thank u very much

ask the folks in the wedding section; they are all into themselves and weddings;

I would suggest planning your dream marriage!

Most importantly, put more effort into the marriage. The wedding is important, but the marriage is a life long thing. People get so caught up in the details, but honestly, at a wedding you dont remember what the napkins said, you recall the ceremony and the time with the people you love. Focus on that and it will go well.

As far as specifics you are on the righ track, make what you can and focus on making good memories, vs the stuff.

Good luck and congratulations.

DH and I were in the same boat. I would suggest setting your budget and then talking with your fiance. Choose 5 things that are MOST important to the two of you and then plan the wedding around those five things. All you really need is the groom and the preacher. The rest is just window dressing

I reckon plan for an outdoor garden theme wedding, with beautiful flowers around possibly near a beach would be nice or even a beach wedding as you dont need shoes, ask people who you invite instead of bringing gifts to put a donation of $$$$ into a box and that could be used for your honeymoon together - then go away somewhere where its private - cabin or beachside resort - and congratulations to you both............

is the same spot. since this is my second wedding and his first. you can always have it in a garden somewhere or someone back yard. getting married and having the reception at the same spot can save alot of money. it all on what and how you see your big day. mine is where all our friends and family camp it's a private campground so it's just all of us that spend every weekend together any ways.then we are doing a pig roast for the reception. we normally throw a clambake every summer for all of us camper so this will be a little different this summer.

are you very crafty? I am guessing so since you made your own invitations......being crafty works really well on a budget........you could design your own bouquets, bridesmaids etc etc..........even the table decorations...beaded baskets with handles to put the little mints in....my nephew's wife did all her own table decorations for their wedding..and it looked really good........you could buy some round glass containers(looks almost like a mini fish tank) make a stained glass picture(doves, wedding bells etc etc) and make gel candles in the colors of your wedding

I hope this helps... It has a lot of ideas that are for do-it-yourselfers and you can modify them to give them a more personal touch. And CONGRATULATIONS!!!
