This article was posted in a Chinese news paper to advise Chinese tourist how to act when they travel abroad.

I think this is good but they forgot to tell the Chinese tourist not to call the people in the other country bad names. The Chinese always call white people quai lo and black people they call them bad names too. The Chinese think if you do not understand their language then its ok to call you bad names.

I ask the Chinese Government or the Travel Agency to add to that list be polite and do not insult the other people even if they don't understand Chinese.

It is so funny! I don't know any other country that is teaching its citizens how to behave while travelling to foreign countries... I saw at the airports in Europe signs, only in Chinese, asking people (obviously Chinese) to be quiet and not to spit.
I think it's good idea to ask them to add your concern as well. But I am afraid - they are the same like rest of Chinese - it is a nation of peasants, and they behave like peasants. The only people that can teach them good manners are foreigners, probably the best are Japanese.

marvin, if chinese people are ignorant then why do caucasians and asians account for the most college graduates in the U.S.? lol. answer that, you ignoramus.

and chinese people say those terms because the majority do not know the correct terms for such races, i'm sorry to say. china has the largest population in the world so you can assume that not many are properly educated, as many still live and work on farms for their entire lives such that many have probably never even had contact with someone from another race until they do venture out of their own society. being "polite" is also not very high on the priority list for chinese lifestyles as well. they are hardly even polite to each other :P an example is, despite what many people think, a lot of chinese prefer a casual way of saying hello, like "Wai!!" meaning "Hey You!" instead of "Nei Ho Ma?" i hope you understand it is just their culture..like you won't see in american tourist guides advising them to take off their shoes when entering a person's house in China. It's a cultural thing.

I advise the general public transit methods. The discipline is immense however the methods paintings good simply permit tons of time. An all day elementary MTA transit cross fees $five legitimate for bus & rail traces. For longer local journeys there could also be Metrolink commuter rail.
