I will be going out tonight and want to wear a black dress. It's both elegant and casual but I want to dress it down as much as possible to make it look as though I'm not going to an opera. So far I'm thinking black wedges..As far as handbags, I'm a huge fan of small clutches but I'm afraid it will look too dressy. Should I oversize the bag? And what about jewelary? Ahh! Help! Thanks :)

Great question ! if its a halter dress u could dress it down with a cute blazer or jacket, if its a tube dress put a long sleeved or short casual shirt then Yes you could wear a n oversized bag and flats, sandels or sneakers like black and white chucks will really dress it down. for jewelry chuncky bracelets are in and neclaces. dont wear silver or gold jewelry because that makes it loook type dressey. plastic jewelry will make any dress look casual and retro! hope this helps and have fun where ever your goin!

Definitely wedges. Nothing with a sleek heel or too strappy. And a big bag would definitely help add a little more funkiness, don't do a small clutch, it will give the dress more elegance than you want. A bag with a cool design or bright color would be perfect. And for jewelry, wear a super cool pair of earrings, not too 'pretty' though, more trendy. And a bracelet would be nice, again not too pretty or dainty, something you wouldn't wear to an opera ;) I think with these things, you will add just enough to the dress to bring it down to casual and you will feel completely comfortable wherever you go.

wedges are good, and go with an oversized bag that is a bright color and jewelry that matches the bag. Maybe just a long necklace and no earrings. How cute, now i want a black dress!

i think doing acrylic or lucite jewelry which is huge right now. also, throw on a light weight denim jacket and cuff the sleeves. you might find a cute grey cropped vest that would look great. as far as a purse go with a bright patten leather bag, those are going to be huge this year or go for a nice print, even straw. good luck.

The wedges and bag sound cute; but don't wear any jewelry and make your makeup look as natural as you can. Don't over due the hair either.Good Luck!

the clutches will make it look very dressy where a nice small normal earing and no chain u where light make up with u hair pulled back and a nice 3" heel and a nice short jacket

wear open toed shoes definately!! as far as hair goes, wear it down thats casual! i wouldn't wear a necklace but a couple colorful bangles on my wrists.

either cut it down shorter, wear your hair down or wear is with cute sandals rather than heels
