There are many tourist towns in the Rocky Mountains. Great Skiing, wildlife, and fishing. There was a huge gold rush in the Cripple Creek area. Several very popular movies were in Estes Park, at least partially (Dumb and Dumber and The Shining).
In order to truely understand what is here, you must sit and look at the Mountains for a bit.
