Although there are checks and balances, exec, legis, judicial
branches...which none of them shall exceed their rights or power to keep any one branch from growing. There is a Simple flaw..

WE HAVE LESS THAN 600 PEOPLE DICTATING HOW 300,000,000 WILL LIVE.

Do you think for a moment they are not all in bed at one point.
If only half are.....We are in big trouble....I think we are.

Think of the power they have.....FBI, CIA, NSA, ALL 50 State Police and All County City..

I am not saying this system of Government is not working it does. We have freedom beyond many countries dreams.
That's why everyone comes to America. But I would like to see
more power given back to the individual states.

Our Federal Government was never meant to be so powerful against it's people..and yet so impotent...when it deals with waging war. Foreign Threats......

You're exactly correct. Republicans, Democrats, whatever, once they get to Washington, they truly are all the same.
And with the current system, no one with any "new" or innovative ideas will last long in elected office. Folks that don't go with the flow in Washington are denied committee assignments (the bread and butter of the congress-person) and therefore denied the opportunity to ear-mark funds, projects, ect. for their district/state. These people are seen as ineffective by the voters and promptly bounced out of office.
All that being said, "the system" as it is, does seem to work most of the time. Yes, it's far from perfect and it definitely has it's share of rough spots, but compared to the rest of the world, our government, considering it has over 300,000,000 citizens with ample amounts of freedom to do as they please, manages pretty well. I would argue, though, that this is due more to a well-meaning populous than to a government operation that's hitting on all cylinders.

You are correct. The powers of the Federal Government have exponentially increased beyond the original intent of our Founding Fathers.

Unfortunately, it appears to be an unstoppable 'Juggernaut' .

Perfect system? No, but a good system if you as me. Who would want 300,000,000 chiefs anyway? 535 and a Pres is OK with me...

Agreed. Write to your closest Republican and remind them that they're supposed to be the party pushing for SMALLER government. They seem to have forgotten.
