It´s a toss-up between Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaká. Both are the bases of their teams, and both are going through extremely good moments right now. Cristiano is getting the spotlight because of the fact that Man U is probably going to nail the Premiership and that they are still alive in the UCL, while Kaká´s AC Milan is not doing so well in the Serie A and they are lucky to be in these stages of the Champions League. If I had to choose, I´d say Kaká because he´s more of a team-builder and strategist than Cristiano, but really trying to make a definite statement is rather difficult and perhaps unfair to both players. They are definitely both at their prime, and it´s a joy to see them play. About Ronaldinho, he has pretty much deferred his position to Lionel Messi in Barcelona and he has lowered his level a tad bit, so his stardom is falling right now.

Right now... it's C Ronaldo. He's scored 18 goals this season and is the leading scorer for Man Utd. His speed, footwork and skill on the ball are amazing. He's not diving as much and is setting up his teammates, 16 assists. He's been one of the driving forces behind his team and is a big reason as to why United is still in contention for the Treble.

Plus he doesn't look like JarJar Binks.

its hard to pick one specific player because of the different positions. just because a striker is amazing doesnt mean hes a better player than a really great goalie, for example.

so it all really depends....

i like saviola as a striker but i dont necessarily think hes the best in the world. so many good ones, its hard to pick.

in terms of defense, i think puyol is one of the best in the world. hes called "the wall" for a reason.

(im partial to barca)

I'd have to say Miroslav Klose. He's is definitely not as flashy as Ronaldihno or C. Ronaldo, but how many goals did Ronaldihno score in the World Cup??? Klose shot 5 and in 2010 will easily break Ronaldo's record of 15 goals seeing as Klose already has 10. He may not be making the headlines every day, but he's the one who makes things work and is an invaluable addition to the German National Team.
