Lots of money and ability to lie, cheat and steal without caring about how you are affecting others along the way. I can't think of a single one at the moment who doesn't fit this description. There will never be another Ronald Reagan.

Someone once said (and I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember the quote) that politics was like going into the tunnel of love holding hands with girl A, screwing girl B in the car behind him in the dark, and coming out still holding hands with girl A.

To be one of a kind (politician) would have to be honest and not lie to get in office and to keep his or her pledge to the people.= no lies, no kickbacks, no payoffs, but honestly is the only policy. This would be one of a kind politician. Also work for the welfare of the American people.

Be good looking, extremely wealthy, and be able to lie egregiously with a straight face in all circumstances. It also helps to have good connections with people who can take care of "little" annoyances.

one she be smart, quick thinking, have a genuine love of service and they should know when to be humble, and when to take credit. Also when to give in and when to be forceful. or at least have some sense of these things.
